Help children communicate better

Why is John supporting I CAN, the children's communication charity?
Communication is an essential life skill. Everything we learn and achieve in life depends on it. Over the years, John has refined his communication skills while writing stacks of letters. Then someone gave him a few encouraging words and suggested that he turn them into a book.

Sadly, many young people need more than one piece of random encouragement to make their communication skills shine. In the UK, 1 in 10 children has a communication disability - that's approximately three in every primary school class. Children who find language difficult can find everything difficult.

I CAN helps children find their voice. When you buy a new copy of this book, £1 will be donated to I CAN (Registered Charity Number 210031) up to a maximum of £10,000.

What can £10,000 achieve?

• It could pay for 30 children with severe communication difficulties to spend a week at an I CAN Regional Centre where they will benefit from specialist support, have fun and build confidence. For some, this could be a life-turning event "
  
  
• It could provide specialist training so that 100 nursery teachers get the skills they need to support young children with communication difficulties at a time when it can make the most difference to their lives.
